I have liked pretty much every one of the Lords books. I somehow missed reading this book, reading Strider's and Paris's book before this one. So I went back to this book to read it...and found that I'd missed nothing. I did stop at 69% through the book, because I felt finishing it was pointless.Something seemed extremely lacking about this book, and I really had thought Amun was going to be much more interesting than he was. He and Haidee's relationship just kind of...happened. There were interior and exterior conflicts, but they didn't seem to really have that much tension. Also, plot. The plot for the series arch is in all of the Lords books, except for this one. I obviously didn't read this before continuing with the series and didn't miss out on much. The best thing about this book, for me, was the introduction of Zacharel. Even his awesomeness wasn't enough to compel me to finish the book.
